Sports Interaction News Week 37 – Here is the action report for the first week of the NFL season and In the world of boxing, odds on Saturday’s rematch between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez available at Sports Interaction for the upcoming week 37, 2018.
It’s hard to know what to expect in the first week of the NFL season. After a handful of essentially meaningless games filled with vanilla game plans and standard field-goal point spreads, you’re thrown into a brand new world of “real” football. Last week had its share of surprises as well, but if you stuck with favourites, you’re in good shape right now. Favourites were 10-5-1 straight up and 8-7-1 against the spread with nine of the 16 games playing over their posted totals for Week 1.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets put bettors on notice with big wins. The Bucs won outright in New Orleans as a 10-point underdog and the Jets blew out the Lions in Detroit as a touchdown-underdog. Now, in Week 2, you’ll start to see some adjustments. Tampa Bay is just a 3-point underdog at home to the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, while the Jets are 3-point favourites at home to Miami. More than 70 percent of early bettors like the Jets to cover, but they aren’t sold on the Bucs yet with 75 percent of point spread action backing the Eagles.
The biggest line on the board currently has the Los Angeles Rams as 12.5-point favourites at home to the Arizona Cardinals after the Rams opened at -10.5. The home team is seeing heavy support here. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are 1-point favourites on the road in Jacksonville in a big battle among two strong AFC contenders. Almost 80 percent of bettors like the Pats to cover on the road.
The Thursday Night Football matchup features a couple of 1-0 squads as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals opened as high as 3-point home underdogs, but currently sit at -1. They have covered the number in six of their last nine meetings with the Ravens.
The Dallas Cowboys are field-goal favourites at home to the rival New York Giants in the Sunday Night football game, but nearly 80 percent of early bets are on the underdogs to cover in the prime time spot. On Monday, the Chicago Bears look to avoid another embarrassing setback at home against Seattle after blowing a 20-point lead in Green Bay last week. So far, about 65 percent of bettors like Chicago to bounce back and cover -3.5.
In the world of boxing, Saturday’s rematch between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez is as big as it gets. The last time they met they fought to a majority draw with many questioning some of the scorecards, but this has the makings to be a rematch to remember. Golovkin is currently set as the -160 favourite with Alvarez as the +134 underdog. The draw is at +1800.
