Many NFL bettors head into Week 11 fueled by the losses of Week 10. The biggest of those occurred on Monday Night Football when the Washington Commanders handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season. Many bettors had the then-unbeaten Eagles as the last leg of their parlays, but Washington sent those up in flames with a 32-21 victory as an 11.5-point underdog. With that last game in the books, underdogs continue to dominate the league’s against the spread (ATS) stats, covering in more than 57 per cent of games to date. The under has cashed in about 59 per cent of games.
This week’s Thursday Night Football game has 6-3 Tennessee Titans, who are also 7-2 ATS, as 3-point underdogs as visitors against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers snapped a five-game losing streak last week in overtime against Dallas.
In Sunday’s action, the Eagles visit the Indianapolis Colts. Last week Philadelphia opened at -10.5, but following the MNF loss are sitting at -6.5 with 67 per cent of the betting support. The biggest line of the week resides in Baltimore where the Ravens opened at -12.5 and currently sit at -12 against the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills have shifted from -8.5 at home to the Cleveland Browns to -9.5. Almost 70 per cent of bettors like the Bills to cover. The most popular bet of the week has almost 85 per cent of current point spread bets on the 3-7 Chicago Bears to cover as field-goal underdogs in Atlanta.
The betting public also likes two more road teams in the primetime games to close out Week 11. The Kansas City Chiefs (7-2 straight up, but 3-5-1 ATS) are -6.5 at the Los Angeles Chargers in Sunday Night Football. On Monday Night Football the San Francisco 49ers are 8-point favourites at the Arizona Cardinals.
Sports Interaction is celebrating the 109th Grey Cup in Regina with 109 betting options on the game. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened as 4.5-point favourites against the Toronto Argonauts, but bettors jumped all over that early line to push Winnipeg to -6. Now, the action is relatively split.
The wait is almost over with the World Cup kicking off the hosting country, Qatar facing off against Ecuador (+128) on Sunday before three matches on Monday – England (-322) vs. Iran, Senegal vs. Netherlands (-200), and USA (+159) vs. Wales. Team Canada’s first match is Wednesday in a stiff test against Belgium. The Canadians are big +520 underdogs in that one. SIA has a full page of Canada World Cup props including Alphonso Davies’ top speed (35.5 km/h), a Canadian player cries during national anthem (yes +350), Canada’s total points in group stage, which player will be Canada’s first goal scorer.
