Week 13 is highlighted by three games on Thursday in celebration of Thanksgiving south of the border. The Chicago Bears visit the Detroit Lions to get the action started at 12:30 ET. This line has seen a lot of movement already as it opened as a pick ‘em before Bears supporters weighed in. Now, Chicago is a 3-point favourite with more than 80 percent of bets backing the Bears. After that, it’s the Buffalo Bills visiting the Dallas Cowboys before the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints in the nightcap. Early action is on the Bills, who move from +7 to +6.5, and on the 9-2 Saints, who are 7-point favourites.
On Sunday afternoon, the biggest matchup on the board has the 10-1 San Francisco 49ers visiting the 9-2 Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens opened as 4.5-point favourites but quickly moved to -6 after another masterful showing by quarterback Lamar Jackson in Week 12’s MNF victory. Baltimore now sits second overall on the NFL Super Bowl odds board at +300, just behind the New England Patriots at +250.
Speaking of the Pats, they take a 10-1 record into a Sunday Night Football matchup with the Houston Texans. New England is pegged as a 3-point favourite and is the most popular bet of the week with nearly 90 percent of the betting support. Week 13 concludes with another great matchup as the Minnesota Vikings visit the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks, who are field-goal favourites have won three in a row. Minnesota has won three of four, but is just 1-3 against the spread over that stretch.
On the season, underdogs are still a hot bet at 94-77-5.
The New York Islanders finally lost a game in regulation when they dropped a 3-0 decision at Anaheim on Tuesday. It was the first time the club failed to pick up at least a point in 17 games. At 16-4-2 outright, the Islanders lead the NHL’s money standings at +8.26 units, but they’re only 11-11 on the puck-line spread. The Winnipeg Jets are also cashing in for bettors. Their 14-9-0-1 overall record has their supporters up more than seven units to date, but they too have struggled on the puck-line at 11-13 (-3.68 units).
The Toronto Raptors continue to cash in for bettors despite a depleted roster. The Dinos are 12-4 on the year, tied for top spot in the Atlantic Division with the Boston Celtics, and are 10-6 against the spread. Toronto plays four of its next five at home, where the club is 7-0 straight up and 6-1 against the number. Despite the hot start, oddsmakers have the Raps at +2000 to repeat their NBA Championship, good for eighth spot on the futures board. The Los Angeles Clippers are +300 favourites, just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers at +325.
