How to Bet in Online Roulette
One of the most popular games in a casino is roulette. It is easy to learn, is exciting and offers some large payouts. Perfect for recreational and serious gamblers alike, this article is aimed at the former, players who want to play roulette but are unsure of what to bet on and what they stand to win if their numbers literally come up.
Bets come in two guises, inside bets and outside bets and the terms are related to the places where you place your chips. Outside bets generally offer better odds, but lesser payouts and almost always command a higher bet than one of the inside of the table.
Popular outside bets include betting on whether the ball will land on red or black, both of which pay out 1:1 and the odds against winning are 1.111:1. Other popular outside bets, that offer the same payouts and probability of winning, are betting on the ball landing on numbers 1-18 or 19-36 and also an odd or even number. Slightly better payouts, 2:1, can be had by betting on columns or first, second or third dozens. The odds against winning these bets also slightly increases to 2.167:1
Inside bets are where the big money payouts are, starting with a mammoth 35:1 if the ball lands on a specific number of your choice. The chances of this happening are 37:1, giving the house a larger advantage. Betting on a street, that is three numbers together horizontally such as 1,2,3 or 4,5,6 yields 11:1, betting on the corner of four numbers pays 8:1, whilst betting on any two adjoining numbers is good for 17:1.
There are hundreds of websites out there that offer online roulette secrets with testimonials from seemingly happy customers. Without fail I will say every single one of these sites are either a scam wanting to take your credit card details, are selling a book or e-book with pointless information in them or are linked to affiliates. There is no way you can beat any casino game over the long run so do not waste your money on gimmicks and promises of riches.
